THE ORIGINS
In the summer of 2010, two brothers built a bespoke garment workshop in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.
NEIGHBOURHOOD GARAGE
The productive garage space encouraged a neighbourhood of friends, skaters, and local creatives to work tirelessly, transforming colour-ways derived from sneaker culture and international sporting teams, into wearable custom garments with a prominent colour block aesthetic.
MEANING OF ICHPIG®
This inner circle of aspiring garment technicians came together as one, making up the core members of the ICHPIG® brand - “Ich” coming from the regimented Japanese counter for “one” and “pig” symbolising the young teams relentless hunger. You’ll find ICHPIG® garments marked with a distinctive italic strike-through logo, as a symbol of progression and forward thinking.
ANONYMITY
The teams identity remained anonymous with all members sporting balaclava ski masks with each and every customer interaction. The anonymity gave early supporters of the brand a collective voice, as ICHPIG® soon emerged as an outlet for devoted youths, starved of self expression through traditional clothing brands.
LOCAL. ETHICAL. SUSTAINABLE
For over a decade ICHPIG® garments, from hoodies and pants to tees and shorts, have been proudly manufactured in Australia. To this day, ICHPIG® continues to support the local industry with select ranges still exclusively made here in Australia. Built from a relentless DIY mindset, ICHPIG® embraces a hands on start to finish approach to research, design, and manufacturing. Through continuous progression and a hunger for growth, ICHPIG® has now evolved into a brand known for its quality, comfort, and fit.
